Yummy cookies.

The short version: we barely use any. No advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking, no cookie wall.

Here is every cookie this site can set, and every note it can keep in your browser, honestly listed.

Strictly necessary cookies

Managing your listing. When you press the button on the link we email you to manage a listing, we set one cookie (__Host-mr_manage) so the page knows it’s you for the next 30 minutes. It holds a random session key, nothing else, and it’s only ever set on that page.

Cloudflare Turnstile (the bot check on our forms) may set a security cookie so a human only proves themselves once. It keeps the forms usable and spam out.

Staff only: Cloudflare Access sets a CF_Authorization cookie when one of us signs in to our admin tools. Visitors never get it.

None of these can be switched off, and UK law doesn’t require consent for cookies that are strictly necessary for something you asked us to do.

Notes kept in your browser

These aren’t cookies: they sit in your browser’s local or session storage, are never sent to us, and you can clear them any time with your browser’s site data settings.

  • Pausing the home page video (mr-hero-paused). If you press pause or play on the video at the top of the home page, we remember your choice so the video stays how you left it next time. It holds a 1 or a 0, nothing else.
  • Your contact form draft (mr-contact-draft:contact-form, mr-contact-draft:club-form or mr-contact-draft:hire-form). When you send a message from our contact, club websites or Mini-Z event hire form, we keep a copy of what you typed (your name, email, message and the other fields) in this browser tab’s session storage, so a failed send doesn’t lose it. It’s cleared when the message is sent or you close the tab.
  • Your listing draft (mr-sell-draft in local storage, and the photos in an IndexedDB database called mr-sell). As you fill in the sell form we keep what you’ve entered on your device, photos included, so switching apps or losing the tab on a phone doesn’t lose your listing. It’s put back when you return, cleared when the listing is sent or you press Start again, and forgotten after 24 hours. Your 18-or-over tick is never kept: you tick it again each time. It never leaves your device.
  • Your main photo, for the thank-you page (mr-sell-hero in session storage). When you send a listing we keep a smaller copy of its main photo in that browser tab, so the page that confirms your listing can show it back to you. That copy is never sent anywhere, and your browser clears it when that tab’s session ends.
  • Fathom’s opt-out check (blockFathomTracking). Fathom’s script looks for this note to see whether you’ve asked not to be counted. It only exists if you set it yourself.

Analytics: Fathom, no cookies

We count visits with Fathom Analytics, a privacy-first tool that sets no cookies and doesn’t follow you across other sites. It tells us which pages get read, never who you are. It doesn’t run on the private pages you reach from our emails, such as the link to manage your listing. That’s why there’s no cookie banner to click through.

Our channel video

The video in the band above the footer is our own picture until you press play, so it sets nothing. Press play and it loads from YouTube (youtube-nocookie.com): from then on YouTube (Google) may store data in your browser and note what you watched, under Google’s own privacy policy. Pressing play is your choice; until you do, nothing loads from Google.

The club map

The map on our club directory is our own drawing, built into the page. It loads nothing from a map provider and sets no cookies.
